Scott Keith
Freelance Writer

Scott’s biography

My fascination with journalism started while working as a clerk at The Oregonian newspaper in Portland. I would run around the newsroom, monitor wire machines, run photos to the proper departments, man phones on prep football nights and occasionally leave the building to fetch food orders for hungry copy editors.

The radio bug bit me, and I started working overnights at the old all-news KYXI radio in Portland. I learned to engineer live sports broadcasts, run the console for the Larry King radio show and select news stories for the morning anchor.

The need to actually “talk” on the radio led me to southern Oregon where I was News Director at KAGO in Klamath Falls. Later, I served as News Director at stations KVAS in Astoria, Oregon and KKEE in Long Beach, Washington. I anchored several daily newscasts at these radio stations.

Years later, after discovering my love of journalism was still fresh, I decided to become a freelance writer. Men’s health and travel are among the topics I enjoy writing about. I am a regular contributor to and hope my website/blog will help me connect with future editors and my readers.
